November Shabbat: A Conversation with Senator Weinstein: What’s Happening in Ohio.

Program: Join State Senator Casey Weinstein for a conversation about what’s happening at the Ohio Statehouse and in Columbus. Senator Weinstein will share an update on the issues and legislation being discussed in the Statehouse, what he’s hearing from constituents, and the priorities he’s working on as he represents Ohio’s 28^th Senate District. The conversation will also provide an opportunity to hear directly from Senator Weinstein about his work in the Senate and ask questions about what’s happening in Ohio.

Speaker: State Senator Casey Weinstein represents Ohio’s 28th Senate District (Summit County). A U.S. Air Force veteran and tech executive, Senator Weinstein is a dedicated advocate for public education, economic growth, and community safety. He serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, & Public Safety Committee and is an active member of the Ohio Jewish Caucus and Ohio’s Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission.

Before state office, Weinstein was a Hudson City Councilman (2016–2019). A 2004 Air Force Academy graduate, he served on Active Duty at Los Angeles and Wright-Patterson Air Force Bases, and earned a M.B.A. from The Ohio State University. Recognized as a "Top 40 Under 40" leader by the Dayton Business Journal and a "30 for the Future" by the Greater Akron Chamber, he also works as a Regional Vice President at UiPath.

Casey is married to Dr. Amanda Weinstein, a Director of Research at the Center on Rural Innovation and fellow Air Force Academy classmate. Together, they have three children: Nora, Emilia, and Brady.

Food: The JSC will host an Oneg Shabbat. The Mandel JCC is a kosher facility and does not allow outside non-kosher food, plates, cups, or serving utensils. Join us for an engaging evening!

As you pull into the driveway, follow the signs for Stonehill Auditorium which is on the left side of the building, past the Early Childhood Entrance. Park in the lot on the left across from the entrance. Security provided by JFC Security, LLC, security provider for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
