About the event
Program: This May, join us for a powerful Shabbat featuring a live reenactment of Harriet Tubman. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and went on to lead dozens of enslaved people to freedom through the Underground Railroad, later serving as a Union spy and nurse during the Civil War. Experiencing her story through reenactment brings history into the room allowing us to witness the courage, faith, and moral conviction that helped spark national change and continues to challenge us today.
Eddie Murphy brings Harriet Tubman radiantly back to life for audiences throughout the country in this reenactment of her selflessness and her courage as she changed the nation forever. Harriet Tubman (1822-1913) is an important figure in African American and the nation's history. She was heralded for escorting many slaves from bondage to freedom, her life had many riveting facets.
