About the event
Program: Hanukkah and December Shabbat: Never Again Means Now: The Age of the American Pogrom
Speaker: Brian Hoffman is a farmer from Wooster who attended law school at The Ohio State University and worked in the office of Governor Ted Strickland before beginning his legal career. After several years in private practice, Brian helped launch a series of pro bono legal services projects, first serving women and children seeking asylum from a 55-acre private detention camp in Texas, and then with the Southern Poverty Law Center at a notorious private prison in Georgia. In 2020 Brian became the founding executive director of The Ohio Center for Strategic Immigration Litigation & Outreach (OCSILiO - pronounced "auxilio"), the only nonprofit in the state whose core mission is to provide free legal services to people in immigration custody.
