About the event
Program: Guests will have an opportunity to hear from state Senator Casey Weinstein, who represents Ohio’s 28th Senate District, including Akron and much of Summit County. The conversation will focus on current issues impacting public education and the broader relationship between state policy and local schools and communities.
Speaker: Senator Casey Weinstein
Casey was elected to represent Ohio’s 28th Senate District in 2024. He previously served three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. His priorities include advocating for veterans, improving public education, and expanding healthcare and renewable energy. He serves as the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, & Public Safety Committee and the Government Oversight and Reform Committee. He was appointed by Governor DeWine in 2020 and again in 2024 to serve on Ohio’s Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission.
