About the event

Program: Join us for an insightful discussion on how Ohio’s public schools are being shaped by decisions about legislation, funding, and private school vouchers. Learn what’s happening, why it matters, and how you can make a difference.


Speaker: Ana Chapman


Ana Chapman serves as the Northeast Ohio Organizer for Honesty for Ohio Education, where she works with educators, school board members, and community members to support and strengthen public schools across the region.


A longtime advocate for public education and lifelong volunteer, Ana also serves as president of the Berea Board of Education and is in her 13th year on the board. She has held leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels of PTA, including serving as president of the Ohio PTA from 2019 to 2021, and has been recognized by the Ohio School Boards Association for her leadership and service.


A career educator, Ana recently completed her 33rd year as an elementary music teacher in the Beachwood City Schools.


A proud Cuban-American, she grew up in Miami, Florida, as a first-generation American and the first in her family to graduate from college. She is fluent in Spanish and is the mother of three children.



Food: The JSC will host an Oneg Shabbat. The Mandel JCC is a kosher facility and does not allow outside non-kosher food, plates, cups, or serving utensils. Join us for an engaging evening!


JSC Guest Policy: We love having guests join us! Guests are welcome to attend two complimentary events (lifetime). After that, the fee is $20.00 per Shabbat. Fees paid may be credited towards an annual JSC membership. Learn More Here!


Directions: Enter the JCC campus from S. Woodland. Rd. As you pull into the driveway, follow the signs for Stonehill Auditorium which is on the left side of the building, past the Early Childhood Entrance. Park in the lot on the left across from the entrance. Security provided by JFC Security, LLC, security provider for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
